Ten Picks for ten years

I remember those science fiction movies of the twentieth century when technology rubbed extraordinary misery that had hardly changed for centuries. The time has come.

A decade ago there was no Wikipedia, nine out of ten citizens of the world had no mobile phone, we had frank and still life expectancy was more than two years lower than ours.

But ten years ago, the dream of extinction of suffering and hunger for a future hardly more distant today.

Here's a little foresight exercise (in this last day to submit Wishes New Year). To paraphrase a comedian, it's dangerous to make predictions, especially when it comes to the future. But here is an essay.

Forecasts for years 10 (issued in January 2010, to check in January 2020, largely inspired by Ray Kurzweil prognosis except and unless a disaster ... obviously)

1. Finally, the split of the electoral district of Brussels - Halle - Vilvoorde. Positive except for extremists on all sides.

2 For the years 10 (or 20 at the latest): internet access in the head (télépathie!): positive or negative? Probably both!

3 The equivalent of a PC in 2010 will weigh less than 100 grams and will cost under 20 €.

4. Everyone will know to some € enough to understand its genetic heritage including its origins and main characteristics inherited. And stem cells will be used to process some fight against aging.

5. Technically everything can be filmed, recorded, stored almost anywhere for free.

6. The first aircraft will be used to amplify human capabilities. At least by eye-camera-computer. We will with the PC (or what will replace them) with fewer fingers.

7. The living standard will further increase considerably in North and South (life expectancy: at least two years, production of consumer goods: at least 10% per capita product quality ,...).

8. The vast majority of people will have access to the internet.

9. It will be impossible to get lost unless the will (GPS).

10. Direct democracy worldwide will be possible (by an online vote) but not yet used.
